Apocalypse to play Symphonic Rock concert with Orchestra and Choir |

The program “Rock Sinfônico” is part of the official serie of concerts of the Caxias do Sul Orchestra
One of the biggest names in Brazilian progressive rock, APOCALYPSE promotes one more important project in its career. The quintet is special guest of the concert "Rock Sinfônico" to happen this Sunday, September 11th, at the UCS Theatre in the city of Caxias do Sul, south of Brazil.
Currently formed by Gustavo Demarchi (vocals and flute), Eloy Fritsch (keyboards), Ruy Fritsch (guitar), Rafael Schmitt (bass) and Fabio Schneider (drums), the musicians of APOCALYPSE, accompanied by the Wind Orchestra and the city’s Choir, will perform some of the greatest hits of the band such as “Cut”, “Refuge”, “Follow the Bridge”, “Blue Earth”, “Last Paradise” and “Ocean Soul”. The songs have earned special arrangements for the event!
According to the Orchestra’s maestro, Gilberto Salvagni, the concert intends to illustrate the similarities between concert music and progressive rock. The meeting of these groups is not only a result of complex and rich musical sounds, but also highlights the music creation from the city of Caxias do Sul, and thus boost its recognition. "Classical music with progressive rock, synths with voices, blows with guitars, all together producing deep sound atmospheres, aggressive, impressive and complex, an unique moment in the history of musical creation of Caxias do Sul," says the conductor.
The event has free entrance and its a realization from the Caxias do Sul Culture Secretary, through the Music Unity and Wind Orchestra. This is the fifth concert of the Official Series - 2011 Season.
